Northern Pike

 

The most aggressive and impressive ambush predator that inhabits our lakes and rivers, these toothy fish are highly sought after.
Found in brackash waters with ample cover in which to hide themselves, Pike will lunge out at unsuspecting prey from below.
Pike have been known to take small mammals and birds at the water surface and surface fishing for large Northerns is a great way to spend a day.

Lifespan: 7 Years
Habitat: Inland lakes, rivers, streams. Ambush predator requires shore or underwater vegetation for cover.

Spawning: Spring (April) – typically under ice/just after ice out
Spawn Habitat:
Foods: Anything it can fit in its mouth
World Record: 55 lbs
Standard Baits: Larger lures, Jig Flies/Buck tails, large sucker minnows.
